The VSBC Board of Directors cordially invites you to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, March 5th at 7 PM, taking place at Antisocial Skateboard Shop, located at 2337 Main St.
Do you want to know more about the VSBC?
Are you interested in getting involved?
If so, this meeting is for you!
During our AGM, we will showcase our 2024 accomplishments, discuss our achievements, and outline our goals and strategic plans for 2025.
Furthermore, we will conduct an election to fill at least one board member vacancy. If there is sufficient interest, we might consider adding two more positions.
The VSBC seeks dedicated and passionate skateboarding enthusiasts eager to help elevate and grow with the organization. We aim to enhance the VSBC's capacity with skills in accounting, grant writing, fundraising, event planning, IT, web or graphic design, leadership, legal expertise, or experience with non-profit organizations.
While these skills are not required to be a board member, they are preferred. If these are not your strengths but you are interested in developing and growing these skills with the organization, we still encourage you to apply!
If you're interested in nominating yourself or want to know more about becoming a board member, please check the VSBC Board Position Self-Nomination Form 2025 or visit our linktree in our Instagram bio.
Feel free to share this with anyone you believe would be an excellent candidate.
The VSBC represents Vancouver's skateboarding community. Established as a non-profit in the mid-90s, it aims to promote better skate parks and the acceptance of skateboarding in the city. The VSBC seeks to influence policies, initiatives, and decisions related to skateboarding in Vancouver. We are committed to increasing, improving, and maintaining skateboard spots and parks throughout Vancouver, both indoors and outdoors. Through local events and programs, we strive to engage with and support the Vancouver skateboard community.
Disclaimer: Serving on the board of directors for the Vancouver Skateboard Coalition requires a commitment of at least 2 years. This role carries significant responsibilities, including the ability to listen, analyze, take initiative, think clearly and creatively, and collaborate effectively with others both individually and in groups. Furthermore, being a board member demands a substantial time commitment.
Board members are required to attend the majority of VSBC monthly meetings, supplementary board meetings and additional meetings with various stakeholders. Please consider this before applying.
The nominations will close on Saturday, March 1st, 2025.
